   Academic Projects

Finite Element Modeling for Scantillator Containment Vessel Design for Borexino Solar Neutrino Detector Experiment.

This project had been offered from Physics Department of Princeton University, New Jersey and conducted by using Finite Element Modeling of the "Neutrino Detector" to figure out its structural analysis and design. Both elastic and viscoelastic analysis had been carried out for different boundary constraints, fulfilling the design criteria.

Finite Element Modeling for Determining the Effective Modulus of Elasticity of a Composite Structure and Comparison the Results with Analytical Calculation.

This project had been conducted as a fulfillment of the Graduate Course " Advanced Finite Element Analysis", where the effective modulus of elasticity was determined for different composite structures, made by "Steel - Aluminum" and "Steel - Aluminum - Cast Iron". Stress - Strain relationship was used to determine the effective modulus of elasticity of the composite structure.

Design, Fabrication and Installation of Load Cell in Instron Testing Machine

This project had been conducted as a fulfillment of the Bachelor Degree in major field of Mechanical Engineering, in order to improve the data acquisition system of the Instron Testing Machine for determining the physical properties and behavior of different solid state materials.

  Graduate Research Work

Graduate research work is conducting on " Finite Element Analysis of Spin Casting Modeling of Polymer Films". One specific task of this research, is to investigate the nonuniformity in the spin casting process. Nonuniformity has been created by assigning different values of elasticity or viscosity of the polymer solution in certain regions. Nonuniform mass diffusion and presents of rigid inclusion at different locations have also created nonuniformity in the model.

A Finite Element Based Spin Casting Modeling containing nonuniformity has been found to offer different modes of radial and vertical displacement compared to the uniform model.
